The Christian Science Reading Room has long been a beacon in the Springfield area. Its mission is to provide our community with a quiet atmosphere in which to listen, read, study, and pray about life from a spiritual perspective. The Christian Science Reading Room serves the public through many avenues:

• It is a resource center for researching the Bible and the writings and life of the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. (Learn more at marybakereddylibrary.org.)

• A librarian is available to help you find study resources and answer questions, or, if preferred, leave you to do your own research.

• You can listen to Mrs. Eddy’s seminal work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, or purchase it at our Reading Room. (Learn more at christianscience.com/the-christian-science-pastor/science-and-health.)

• A digitally archived library of the Christian Science periodicals is available to the public. These periodicals – dedicated to spiritual growth –  provide fresh, inspiring articles and verified testimonies of healing on a variety of topics. They help readers explore how people are putting these ideas into practice in today’s world. Digital access to these periodicals also includes podcasts and blogs. • The current weekly Bible Lesson sermon is available for visitors to read or purchase in a variety of formats. (Learn more at biblelesson.christianscience.com.)

• The Christian Science Monitor, an award-winning, international newspaper, is available to read or purchase. Its purpose is “to injure no man, but to bless all mankind.” (Learn more at csmonitor.com.)

• A sales area is stocked with items available for purchase to support your spiritual study and understanding of God. We also sell a variety of items focused on Bible stories. These are of special interest to children.

• Ample parking is available.
